The fetus and the soul

A fetus inside the womb can never fully perceive the existence of the mother, until the moment it is delivered…even though it is within the mother. It can ONLY be slightly conscious of a source of sustenance through the existence of the nutrients it receives via the umbilical cord. So it cannot have “solid proof” until it develops enough to be delivered from it’s immaturity.

In the same way, a physical brain and a person on Earth who binds himself to the brain can NEVER fully perceive the existence of the soul, until it is delivered from the womb of its earthbound ignorance…even though the soul pervades the brain and the body, and they themselves are a spirit. The earthbound brain and the person who binds himself to it can only be slightly conscious of a source of energy-sustenance of the body through the existence of energy it receives from the human soul. So it cannot have “solid proof” until it matures in inner experiences enough to be delivered from the womb of ignorance.

It is not for the body to prove the existence of the soul, but the soul to experience itself through the physical body.

We are human spirits. The word “spirit” derives from the Latin spīritus and means “a breathing”, equivalent to spīrāre to breathe + -tus suffix of v. action.

Thus spirit is literally “breath of life”. The action or movement of the breath of inner life that dispenses energy. The energy of wavelike movement that pervades the body (See the last essay “the heartbeat”). Hence spirit is what makes us human. It is the quintessential essence that actually makes us a person; that justifies us being human. The body is not a human, it is just flesh. So a denial of spirit is tantamount to a denial of being human…and an admission of being just a beast.
