Lyrics to Bill Douglas – Elegy

I decided to write lyrics to my beloved song “Elegy” by Bill Douglas. The wistfully sweet melodies expressed themselves to me in the following words. Enjoy!

Starts at 0:30

Sombre clouds amass in grief
the dense air breathes misery
A tempest forms with the twilight of soul
This is nature’s dirge for the joy lost in me

As the storm begins to rage
There is one last decision to make
Do I sit and brood or seek the Grail that frees?
For there is one more ship that sails from Sea!

O Lord wilt thou grant me might?
To conquer this night?
I feel the winds blowing, blinding all sight
Please order “Be still, Let there be Light!”

So I run to the coast that shines
Like a star of hope, a goal so sublime
But I stumble, trip, and fall down to my knees
Consumed in the battle for soul liberty,
…One last chance to be free!

Interlude: 2:41-3:41

Restart at 3:42 – song ends

Repeat verses 1-4
