Polytheism of weaknesses

All excessive attachments to base desires and passions is a consequence of the “prodigal son’s” craving for slops outweighing his hunger for the bread of his homeland. The gods we figuratively worship are simply the energy of those tendencies we give the greatest autonomy over our innermost beings. Viewed logically, how many of us can honestly say they are not guilty of living in perennial violation of the First Commandment? We indeed have a long way to travel.
