Pain and suffering

So long as there is one slight misconception of Truth we hold, internal pain and suffering must be the consequence in some measure. Only when we relinquish this misconception are we delivered from pain and suffering. What is pain? Pain is the tremendous friction that arises when the misconception we inwardly hold is in conflict with a reality that manifests for us to experience. Seeing and inwardly experiencing the tremulous dissonance, the impact of this difference between the two worlds of our notions and reality gives rise to pain. The inner pain compels us to concede we are wrong somehow. Our orientation is flawed in some way, even if slightly. Life is saying “change your attitude, position and concept”.

What is suffering? Suffering is when, despite this pain, we cling to our misconception rigidly. We stubbornly refuse to relinquish our position and misbegotten interpretation of an experience and life circumstance. So this pain now intensifies into suffering. The friction graduates into a fire of agony which must consume us in despair until we inwardly collapse or are subdued by reality through changing our positions. The Light of Truth burning our misconceptions until it is reduced to ashes and we surrender to admit…”God is right, God’s Will in Life is Perfect, and I am wrong”. If we refuse to abdicate this misconception, the Fire of Truth will burn us with it until we are spiritually reduced to ashes. Either way, what is wrong must collapse. The Heat of Truth will never relent until we completely surrender to its Omnipotent Authority through a change in our inner life.

But in this change and surrender to Truth, there is supreme bliss, unbounded joy and superlative happiness. Since this change is only for OUR own good and eternal benefit, such severity that compels us to change our misconceptions can only be seen as Divine Love. The Love that works united with Divine Justice with the sole aim of eternal progress and happiness for all who are domiciled within its luminous folds.
