Justice System

Part of the reason there is so much unrest and tension between the justice system and the citizens today is simple. It lies in the motive of the law. The purpose of earthly justice systems, especially those in the United States, is to subjugate and punish. However, the purpose of the Divine Law is to tutor, rehabilitate, and strengthen through whatever reciprocity befalls man. So the motive of our earthly law contradicts the very basis of the Divine Law. As a consequence there will be unrest because the motive of punishment alone brings about the reaction of fear, distrust, rebellion, violence and chaos. Going further, some police officers are even seen as an executing arm of this punishment so many citizens react accordingly with fear and paranoia.

Until there is incorporated in the punishment of our law the sincere desire to rehabilitate and uplift, there can never be peace. For you cannot expect peace from the sole desire to punish. Punishment bereft the desire to genuinely improve another is just cruelty. Peace and harmony can only arise from a disciplinary action when it is based on the genuine motive for the improvement of another, and the establishment of systems to ensure this end. All punishments or severity must serve the sole purpose of improvement. If it does not, we will continue to reap chaos as a society.
